This aquascape embodies that ancient, raw power. The intricate, reaching driftwood acts as the life veins of the landscape, seamlessly bridging the gap between the submerged world and the open air above. Anchored by dark stone and thriving greenery, Gaia showcases the resilience of nature. The vibrant colors of the small tetras and jewel-like Crystal Red shrimp represent the spark of life unfolding within this mystical sanctuary. Day 4 after the 1st 70% water change the water is clearing up ,the first growth in the invitro plants is visible.

The 4 year old biomedia is running in the new filter and also used bacto turbo in the extra media, on the Lavasplit under the soil and on the wood so the bacteria can multiply fast at a high level.
I will wait till the nh4 and no2 stay at zero at least a few days before the fish and shrimps go back.

Picked all the plants in portions
Tomorrow I will take the rest out and catch all the shrimps and fish and bring them over to their temporary accommodation until the rescape is stable again for them.

Tomorrow I will take the rest out and catch all the shrimps and fish and bring them over to their temporary accommodation until the rescape is stable again for them.
-Clean the tank
-Put in the soil compartment, and will add the new wood and take my time to plant the mosses and anubias and bucephalandras on the wood structure.
Then I will fill up the tank and add the plants into the soil and the new filter can go on.
The existing filter will run on the temporary accommodation with a part of the already 4 year old running biomedia in it, the rest will be filled up in the new filter so the bacteria can colonise the new biomeda also.
I hope all the plants will fit because there are definitely a lot of fresh plants that have grown in this tank the last one and half years.

Fist week 50 degree tap water to open the wood vessels daily water changes
Week 2 3 4 35 degree tap water 3 times a week water changes
Week 5 all the tannines and molt are gone completely
Week 6 started yesterday with pure RO ...The last step of pre soaking the wood is started.

Week 6 started yesterday with pure RO water on 0 tds.
Today I did a tds test and it's going up slowly to 35 now so the pure RO water is pulling out the kh and gh from the tap water. I will do a water change Wednesday and will check the tds before.
I will do this the coming 2 weeks.
When the tds stays under 5 I will change it for the last time on the right tds 130 with GH plus so the wood is as stable as possible for the new scape.
Why all this work!! Shrimps are Very sensitive for parameter changes so always take your time to prepare the wood to keep it as safe as possible.
Of course I will take all the shrimps and fish out before rescapeing and keep them safe in a separate tank for at least a week till the parameters in the new scape are stable and safe for them.
I have a stable 5 year old running filter that is full of beneficial bacteria so the cycle will be going fast .
Also tropica soil has not that much ammonia in like Ada soil.
But I'm always careful with the animals.
Better safe and more time then losing them because I can't wait.

On distingue désormais un peu mieux la Rotala Blood, qui commence à pointer le bout de son nez. 😊
Cet aquarium aquascaping est principalement composé de plantes épiphytes, avec notamment des Anubias Coffeefolia, Nana, Pinto, Angustifolia et Pangolino. Ces plantes aquatiques apportent beaucoup de caractère au décor tout en restant faciles à maintenir. 🌿
On y retrouve également plusieurs fougères aquatiques, comme les Microsorum Trident, Windeløv et Pinnatifida, ainsi qu’une touche de Bolbitis, qui renforcent l’aspect naturel de cet aquascape simple dans sa composition.
Et bien sûr, impossible de ne pas mentionner les nombreuses variétés de Bucephalandra qui viennent compléter la végétation 🤗

J’ai donc ajouté une touche de rose avec la magnifique Rotala Blood de chez Aquabon ...🇷🇪 Avec le fond dégradé vert de chez Ada, je trouvais qu’il manquait un peu de couleur dans cette aquarium. Entre les Anubias, les fougères et les Bolbitis, le vert est largement à l’honneur.

À peine 14 jours après la plantation, elle commence déjà à dévoiler ses premières feuilles colorées. J’ai hâte de voir l’évolution dans les prochaines semaines… elle est tout simplement magnifique, vous en pensez quoi? ❤️💚🌱

The Monte carlo has melted back but think a mix of new plants as epiphites and not dosing enough ferts into water column.

J’en ai profité pour filmer quelques images et réaliser une courte vidéo pendant le shooting. Un bac vraiment très sympa, avec de magnifiques Seiryu Stone ⛰️. On envisage quelques ajustements au niveau des plantes, notamment la gazonnante au premier plan.

Here we are. It's been five months since I made this paludarium.
I followed all of its development very calmly and this allowed me not to stress with heavy and boring maintenance.
But now it's time to get serious.

I love this tank from all angles 😍
I wanted to try a 3-sided aquascape that provides lots of interest from all sides and offers something different from the density of plants to open space for showcasing fish.
I couldn't be happier with the result and how this has settled, I still need to add to the show peice fish, but the subtle flashes of blue from the cardinals are proving enough at the moment.
I've battled a fair amount of algae and am trying to balance the co2/lighting and ferts.
